About Me

Hi, I'm Orna

"A groundbreaking novel, and a new, original literary voice"

I am the author of Dy(e)ing Purple and I Don’t Do Dead (previously published in Hebrew).

I am an alumnus of the Columbia Graduate School of Journalism and winner of its renowned BNN Scholarship.

I am also is the recipient of the Kevin Smokler Scholarship at the 2020 San Francisco Writers Conference.
In June 2019, I was invited to read her novel Dy(e)ing Purple at a renowned Berlin venue, The Fiction Canteen.

My debut novel sold about 10k in Israel alone and received great acclaim, as the country’s largest newspaper raved: “a groundbreaking novel, and a new, original literary voice.”

I have been a journalist for the past 15 years. Working as a reporter/ producer at CBS-2 in New York City and Tel Aviv.

Before that I worked as an associate producer at CBS’s 60 Minutes.

I also worked as a junior professor at a number of colleges in Tel Aviv, teaching English and journalism.

In recent years, I have been reviewing hotels, parties, art and books both on my Instagram and Facebook accounts and on TripAdvisor.
